Tracing
The Tracing Module of TCSW includes a grid for Current CLMs (Car Location Messages), Current Year CLMs and CLM History. Car Location Messages can be imported from a program of your choosing that permits saving of daily CLMs in ASCII text format. Tracing programs currently supported by TCSW include Industry PC (REDI), Conrail Access and BN Lynx for DOS, versions 2 and 3. TCSW extends these programs by allowing you to create an historical record of your CLMs and by allowing you to query and report on your CLM data in a variety of ways. In addition, the Current CLMs Form View lets you view your Current Sightings and Sightings History simultaneously so that you can easily determine if a particular car is on the proper route. The sample below will illustrate this powerful feature:
In addition, the CLM is laid out in an easy-to-read sentence form: "AEX 5002 Junctioned at Lafayette, Indiana as an empty on 12/20/95 at 12:30am from the CSXT. It was going to Delphi, Indiana."
